Grade 1 (Easy):
Flat water with very small ripples. Suitable for beginners and families.
Grade 2 (Novice):
Gentle rapids with small waves and clear, wide channels. Basic paddling skills are needed.
Grade 3 (Intermediate):
Moderate rapids with larger waves, more obstacles, and tighter channels. Requires more control and skill.
Grade 4 (Advanced):
Large, powerful rapids with strong waves, drops, and obstacles. Skillful navigation is required, and the experience is for more seasoned rafters.
Grade 5 (Expert):
Very challenging rapids with dangerous drops, large waves, and complex maneuvering. Only highly skilled and experienced rafters should attempt these.
Grade 6 (Extreme):
Near impossible rapids with significant danger to life and limb. These rapids are typically considered unraftable or only for the most experienced professionals.
